I’m addicted to this one!
If you’re not into coffee, you can enjoy the lavender infused milk iced on its own. And if you’re non dairy Joe makes this with fresh almond milk too!
INGREDIENTS
(Makes enough for two 16 oz lattes).
Two cups of the milk of your choosing. (Regular or Non-Dairy).
Two teaspoons sugar.
Six sprigs of fresh lavender. (or two tablespoons of dried culinary lavender).
One teaspoon of vanilla extract.
DIRECTIONS
To prepare the lavender milk, heat the milk in a saucepan on low heat. You do not want to bring the milk to a simmer, this is just about warming it up.
Rinse the fresh lavender and add to the pan, making sure it's fully submerged.
Add the sugar and the vanilla extract.
Using a wooden spoon, gently and repeatedly press down on the lavender springs to help release the essence.
Let the lavender steep in the milk for about 10 minutes.
Strain the lavender milk into another container using a fine strainer.
Make your coffee. You can use a shot of espresso or 1/2 cup of brewed. Stir the coffee with a couple ice cubes to cool it.
Fill your glass with ice about 3/4 to the top and add the coffee.
Then add the lavender milk, filling the glass. Optionally, you can leave a bit of room to add a thin layer of frothed lavender milk to the top.
Garnish with a whole lavender sprig or two.
Optionally, you can add a sprinkle of raw sugar and some colorful lavender petals for color and added flavor.
