Pineapple Sage Bourbon Cocktail

Updated: May 26

Made with Frey Ranch Straight Bourbon Whiskey, this cocktail is surprisingly light, refreshing and perfect for poolside.

This recipe makes 2 cocktails

INGREDIENTS

  • One cup of fresh, sage infused pineapple juice, preferably hand muddled (directions below - requires one pineapple). Or, optionally, one cup of pre-made pineapple juice.

  • Four ounces of Frey Ranch Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

  • Two ounces of sage simple syrup.

  • A splash of sparkling water or club soda.

  • One bunch of sage..

DIRECTIONS

First... the pineapple juice...

Slice up a fresh pineapple.

Add the pineapple pieces to a sturdy container, gradually, and muddle with a bunch of sage. The pineapple flesh will pulp as you muddle, leaving more and more juice. Keep doing this until you use the whole pineapple. Let sit for 20 minutes.

Strain out the pulp and sage so you are left with just the infused juice.

Of course, for a quicker but less fresh version, you could opt for pre-made pineapple juice, muddled in the shaker when you make the cocktail.

Then... the cocktails...

Combine the pineapple juice, bourbon and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker over ice.

Shake well, for about 30 seconds.

Pour through a strainer over ice into your serving glasses.

Top with a splash of sparkling water.

Garnish with Pineapple and Sage.
